Is there any way of capturing statistics on the number of active users versus inactive users?

I am undertaking some performance testing of our CLM Environment. At peak we have approx. 250 concurrent users. Is there any way (on the live system) of capturing statistics on the number of active users versus inactive users (users who are logged in but not doing anything)? This information will help in tuning my load test.
