Disable automatical association changeSet-WorkItem

Hi,
I was thinking if is it possible to disable automatic association to work-item when creating a change-set. I'd like to have my user to do this and not have automatic linking with work-item that they owned. This is because I've two level of work-item and I want to associate change-set only with the lower level.

Is it possible?

Thank you for the answer, this means that I have to activate the correct work-item to have the correct association. But it is not specified if there is a way to disable default behaviour.
But I think that there is not.

The automatic association occurs when the work item has 'start working' invoked on it. It's an indicator to the rest of the team of your current task and is supposed to save time by associating work items to change sets. In addition, it suspends associated change sets when you invoke 'stop working' on the work item.

There currently isn't a way of disabling the auto-association behaviour. Although, it makes the most sense to set the work item you really are working on as the current work to achieve the desired auto-association. Personally, I don't use it because I always forget to change my current work.

I would suggest opening a work item if you want this preference for auto-association.

Thank you, I think I'll define a user guideline to use this feature more properly. It could be confusing if a developer is working on two or more work-item at the same time, but a correct use could, as you said, save time and improve quality.

Best regards,
Michele.
