How to validate python code written for automation in RQM?

Rfudge A (1312) | asked Mar 20 '17, 3:22 a.m.

I have written a test script using python which needs to be automated. When I run it through Command Line Adapter the test-case executes successfully. This is executing successfully because the code has no syntax errors. But, what if I need to validate certain aspects of the code, i.e. whether it has passed or failed w.r.t a particular test case. How does one do that?

You would make sure that your python code exited with a non zero return to indicate an error.  You can look at the config sample I believe indicates various types of return codes as well.  Also anything you write to stdout or stderr is captured by the command line adapters and is stored as part of the results so you can indicate what was successful or what failed there as well.
