Predefined approval workflow based on selected application?

Claudia Callegari (44449871) | asked Aug 25 '09, 5:00 p.m.
I have no idea if this can be accomplished and if so, how.
Is there any way in RTC to setup a predefined approval workflow based on an application (could be a custom field) that is entered into the work item?

Ideas / Workarounds are also appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

The idea would be the following:

Given a specific application (or team) predefine an "approval template" for a specific WI type.
For example:

TEAM 1
Enhancement approval: customer A, customer B, PM C
Risk approval: PM C, executive D, executive E
and so on

So each WI type has a predefined approval workflow and only specific roles are able to modify that template or predefined aproval cycle.

Thanks for the example. This sounds like an aspect of the more general
topic of work item templates. We are currently working on this. With the
templating functionality, you can define work item templates for the
different work item types which would include the desired approval
structure.
