Upgrading From CLM 5.0 to 6.0.2 Switching from RRDi to JRS

Glenn Watkins (88347) | asked Aug 19 '16, 9:38 a.m.
 Hi

We are in the process of upgrading from CLM 5.0 to CLM 6.0.2, we currently use RRDI and understand this is no longer an option as from 6.0

How do we handle the reporting from here, is the JRS component that comes with CLM 6.0.2 adequate or do we set up the Cognos Server and install the Cognos Connector?

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated

Kind Regards
Glenn Watkins

Hello Glenn,

it depends on your reporting needs.
I think Report Builder 6.0.2 covers most of the reporting use cases, however it's not possible to replicate exactly every report that you can build with report studio (especially if you need complex calculations or formatting).

Another point to take into account is that you cannot migrate the reports, so you would need to factor in the time to rebuild the one you need in Report Builder, when you consider if you might need a temporary Cognos instance during the transition.

The best advice would probably be to do a test installation of CLM 6.0.2 and evaluate if Report Builder can cover all your needs.
