Process sharing for existing projects

 hi .

i have created a new workflow(customized one) likely to use it for all existing 40 projects ,all 40 projects has Formal Project Management Process template configured. For new upcoming projects i will use process sharing concept but for existing is there any way to implement the  new workflow without altering the code individually.
