RQM RTC Work Item Integration Issue

Hi

Using the current latest releases of RQM and RTC I have attempted to configure the cross server communication as per the RQM help and the following tech note.

http://jazz.net/library/technote/304

Unfortunately defects created in one system are not visible in the other regardless of in which system I create the defect work item.

Within the server console window for RQM the following is displayed;

07:45:57,046 INFO com.ibm.rational.test.lm.service
- class com.ibm.rational.test.lm.service.spi.ProviderRestService:postDiscoverAllAssets AQXSP0002I External provider functionality was accessed through RQM but none are configured: No provider with inventory ability is active

Any ideas?

Hi Mark,
That info message you listed is not related, and is just informational (not an error).
The key information for your problem would be any error that got displayed (through the UI) when you set up the project area link (step 10 and 11 in Project Linking) for both RQM and RTC. Did you get an error then?

John

Hi John, when setting up the links no errors were reported by either RTC or RQM.

Can you provide me with a use case that demonstrates the functionality of the links? This would help me at least clarify what I should/shouldn't see.

Both RQM and RTC are installed inside of the same VM image, both have been configured to use separate ports and both applications have been tested to ensure they operate correctly. The .hosts file on the VM has been modified to include aliases for rtcserver and rqmserver, these aliases being used throughout the configuration of both applications.

Thanks,
Mark

Once you have RTC integrated with RQM, you can:
- Link (RQM) Test Cases with (RTC) Plan Items (for example, you can create a test case from RQM then add an existing plan item from RTC to the test case)
- File defects when executing a TER
- Manage defects in Execution Result (for example, you can change the defect locking status from execution result)
- Create defect against RTC project from RQM (Defects->Create Defect, Select the RTC project from the "Filed Agains" combo box)
