How to restrict characters in Rational Team Concert?

I am using Windows OS which has restrictions for creating folder names. Normally you are unable to create a folder or file which includes the following characters: "\ / : * ? * < > |". However, when on the WebUI you are able to use these invalid characters to create files/folders. Is it possible to restrict the use of these characters?

In the ccm/admin Advanced Properties, you can find a property "Invalid file name characters" where you can specify characters you do not want to allow in a file name.
