How to add read only queries?

 Greetings All

We have a popular project area with some standard queries that we have set up.  We want these queries to remain static for the users.

Problem is that some users will go in and modify/save some of these queries that we want to be read-only.

There is no way (that we know of) to restrict query access by role.  We could shut it down for everyone except administrators, but we would prefer for people to be able to modify a query and do a "save copy" so that they can have their own modified query.  We just don't want them to modify our gold copies of our shared queries.

Is there any way to lock down our static queries, but still allow users to create their own by using the "save copy" feature?

We are on Rational 6.0.1.

Thanks for any replies...

If you add the queries as "predefined" queries, no one can modify them. You will need to do it within the RTC Eclipse client, Process Configuration > Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Work Items > Predefined Queries.

If you want to modify such queries, you can remove them from the predefined queries category temporarily, and they will appear under "My Queries" for the query creator.
