Deleted CC synchronization stream

jim herron (814327) | asked Jul 30 '09, 2:42 p.m.
I am working with a client that deleted the CC synchronization stream in his project.

I cannot find a mechanism to recreate a synchronization stream that will let him continue his work without losing history. Unless I am mistaken, a new synchronization stream that imports from CC will not recognize his current RTC files, but will instead insist on creating new elements with identical names.

This is very painful as he has some changes on the RTC side that had not been synchronized. Any ideas? Is there some way to restore the old synchronization?

Hi Jim,

A new synchronization stream that imports from CC will match up your
ClearCase elements with the appropriate existing Jazz versioned files,
so no evil twins will get created here. In particular, you can just
deliver/accept between the exising jazz workspaces and streams and the
new synchronized stream, and everything should magically do the right
thing (let me know if it doesn't :-). You may get some "trivial merge"
conflicts, but just say "auto-merge", and they'll get resolved.

You didn't really think the folks that designed ClearCase would get
something like that wrong, did you? (:-).

Cheers,
Geoff
