Repo Tools Question

kiran pasham (4611610) | asked Jul 20 '09, 2:57 p.m.
Hey

I need to export my RTC data from DB2 express into a tar file.

Can I use repotools -export for this purpose ? I wasnt sure if this tool actually deletes the data after it exports it into the TAR file.

Thanks

Kiran

Hi Kiran

Yes, you should use repotools with the -export option. This does NOT remove the data from the database, just takes a snapshot. Make sure you have shut down the Jazz Team Server before you run repo tools - to make sure no-one can make any changes while you are doing the export.

Also - the only real use for export is because you want to import it into another repository.
