Installing DOORS Next Gen application

 Hello

I have installed the Jazz team server and RM application on my machine. Now I want to install ONLY the RM application on my teammate's machine , such that he can access the server on my machine.
Could you please guide me through this ? I read the instructions on IBM Knowledge Center but I cannot find the option Install Rational DOORS Client in the Install Clients page of the IBM Installation Manager . Any help asap greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Iakshmi,
There is no DNG desktop client. Your teammate simply access to the RM (DNG) server (e.g https://<server>:9443/rm) by a browser.

Hello Taki

Thanks for the answer. It would be great if you could let me know how to access the server from another machine without installing DNG application. I am getting DNS lookup failed error when I try to access the server. I know this does not really fall within the category of DOORS , but it would be really useful.

There is no desktop DOORS Next Generation client.

To access from other machines:

1. Make sure you have an server URI (either IP or hostname) that is accessible from other machines.
You mentioned about DNS error.
Make sure that the client machines can get the server hostname resolved via DNS.
The hostname localhost should not be used.
What hostname do you use?

2. Access http://<hostname>:9443/rm/web from any supported browsers on other machines

If you don't have a hostname that is known by your DNS server, put the hostname with corresponding IP address of your server into the host file of the computer of your teammate. Tons of information on how that works that can be googled.

 Hi lakshmi,

Please let me know which step you are having a issue on your client machine so I can determine where the issue is.
  1. Ensure the CLM public URI in your installation like https://clm.example.com:9443.
  2. Add an entry in the /etc/hosts in the client machine.
  3. Ensure you can ping clm.example.com.
  4. Test to access https://clm.example.com:9443/jts
  5. Test to access https://clm.example.com:9443/rm

 Hello  Bas/Taki/Howard

Thanks a lot for your answers. I hav added the /etc/hosts name into my team mate's machine. my server URI is a fully qualified hostname I am able to ping the server and it works fine but i am not able to access the server from any of his browsers. My teammate's windows firewall is OFF and internet connection works fine. Please let me know.

Next thing you should check if the team mate's machine can reach to the host via 9443 port like the below:

C:\Users\Administrator>ftp
ftp>open
To clm.example.com 9443

If it is successful, output will be "Connected to clm.example.com".
If it is failed, output will be no response/ no output.

 Hello Taki

Thanks. I checked the FTP command. there was no output. Could you please let me know how to proceed. Many thanks again!!!

Hi Iakshmi, Sorry I didn't realize your new comment. Are you still having the issue?

It seems the port 9443 is blocked between the server and the teammate's client. Can you show me the ip address for  the server, the teammate's client and your client? I want to see the differences in term of networking.
