Downloading a RQM v5.x Test Execution Report Via API

We have a requirement from client to develop a macro to download execution report from RQM and create pivot Tables and chart to share the status of the execution. In this process we have to download the report from RQM. To ensure that there are no connectivity issues we have been requested to download the reports using any API instead of the RQM URL. Kindly let us know the steps needed to get this report.

What exactly is "any API instead of the RQM URL"? In fact, the RQM Reportable REST API (probably the only available API) is in the form of a URL.
