Timeline and Iteration Governance

Glenn Watkins (88245) | asked Jun 26 '15, 5:41 a.m.
Good Afternoon

Is it possible to govern the C.R.U.D of timelines and iterations from a master project area to the child project areas within RTC.
We are looking at standardizing the naming conventions in accordance with the companies release plan and want to prevent users from randomly creating or editing these iterations, however to update multiple project areas is just not practical, so we looking at doing the configuration in the master project area template and the child project area's must be updated from that.

Is this possible or are there any other methods that we could use?

Glenn

Hi Glenn, as far as I can tell, it is not possible. The timelines are maintained in the project areas that are sharing the process.

It is a good idea to have some standardization. What you could consider is to create some automation tool using the Java API, that creates and maintains timelines as per your conventions. Unfortunately this is something, where I don't have an example yet.
