How can we prepare an test's jazzserver in order to make tests with production's data

Julio A. Velásquez (1235) | asked Jun 22 '15, 11:48 a.m.
Actually we are upgrading and migrating our CLM platform, OS, DB and Application version, OS from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2012 R2, DB from SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012 R2 and the application version from 4.0.6 to 5.0.2.

Inicially, we are doing tests over an alternative test's environment, then we restored the production DB because we need to do tests with real data, but this DB has registered the hostname of the real production jazzserver, then we required connect the production DB with the test's environment, where exist an alternative jazzserver with another hostname.

Now, we're going to make a clean installation of CLM 4.0.6 but how we make with the URI of test's jazzserver In order to connect with the production's database? and doesn't have problems with the references in the database or with the services in the test's jazzserver???

Thank you so much..!!

Hello,Julio,

Here is a high level overview.  If more detail is needed please engage support.

1. Create a staging environment
a. make a copy of the DB
b. Install CLM but do not run through the setup wizard on a new machine
c. Copy all the configuration files teamserver.properties, rdf, ext..from production to staging
d. On the Windows server update the host file so the existing public uri of CLM is mapped to the IP of the new server
e. A server rename can be proformed to change the public uri to a new one, or on the client machines update the host file so the public uri points to the new server.
