Process iterations automatically added by RTC?
I've customized the process iterations within my project area.
The problem is that after creating a new process template based on this project area, it seems RTC has automatically added some iterations: "Development", "Stabilization" and "Transition Work" (initial project was based on OpenUp template).
Why is this happening? Am I doing anything wrong? How can I get rid of this process iterations?
I would appreciate comments/ideas.
Thanks

In RTC-2.0, you just edit the project template, to add/modify/delete any
iterations that should be created by default when that project template
is instantiated.
I don't remember what was the case for RTC-1.0 ... someone with a better
memory will need to comment on that (:-).

Most likely these unexpected iterations are archived in your project area (and there is a filter that may be hiding them in the project area editor). When creating a template from a project area, archived iterations are included.
If you want to get rid of them, open the template in the template editor (Go to the Process Templates view to see your template). Then, on the Overview page of the template editor, in the Timelines section, you can delete the unwanted iterations.

I've created work item 86120: "Do not include archived iterations in a
project template created from a project area"
