Why does exporting an RTC plan take such a long time?

 Does anyone have this same experience I am seeing? My RTC plan has over 800 work items. When I press the "export plan" button , it does not give me any type of progress status.  Then suddenly the XML file gets downloaded. Also with over 800 work items it is taking over 45 minutes to run. Is anyone else seeing this issue? With no progress bar - I have no idea when it will finish or if it is actually running.

I think that issue is specific to your version or machine.
I am able to do so in 8 min for plan having 750 workitems.But yes no progress bar or something which show that progress.
I am using RTC version 4.0.0

According to work item [CCM] Improve performance of MSP import and Export in Plans the performance of exporting plan will improve in RTC 6.0.
