Can we find the document handling features of "Requisite Pro" in RRC?
Hi,
We missed some functionality available in Requisite Pro while using RRC. We need to know if the following functionality available in RRC? 1) Load a Requirements document. (we can find this in RRC) 2) Mark up the Requirements in the document and assign attributes to requirements during the markup process within the document. (Does not seem to be in RRC - have to mark up and then view requirements in RRC and assign attributes within RRc) 3) In Requisite Pro - when a requirement is marked up in the document - I could edit it in the Document or in Requisite pro and it would stay in Sync. In RRC - I tested this yesterday and there is no link. after the document is marked up - edit marked up text is not reflected in RRC, vice versa. This functionality would have been really useful on this project where traceability is very important to them and they have a large number of subsystems and development documents for each system. This is the particular functionality I am looking for. we are using RRC V4.0.4 on this project. Please if the above functionality already found in RRC, tell us how to find it? Thank you. |

RRC (and DOORS NG) take a different approach than RequisitePro. You can import Word (and OpenDoc Text and RTF and CSV) files. Then the editing happens on-line, in your web browser, not in the individual file on your workstation. This simplifies a lot of complex update and merge scenarios when a team is working on things together.

Does this new approach mean that we should not maintain documents anymore? It sounds like once it is loaded and marked up - we should work solely in RRC. This is not practical on our project because the client still requires Documents to be updated as the project progresses.
What is the recommended approach to do maintain documents as well as the traceability matrix in RRC? It would have been very helpful it the requirements stay in sync when updated in RRC or in the documents within RRC. |
