 I need to have different instances of the Discussion or the attachment field or any other non-attribute-based presentation.
Is this possible?

You can.

But Discussion and other not attribute based presentations access the comments and other collections collection. You can not create a second comments or other collection and any additional instance of the presentation will show the same data as all the others.
