Converting all Descriptions to wiki format
I've searched this forum, and it seems this question has been asked, but I couldn't find any real answer:
We just upgraded from Jazz 2.0 to 3.0 -- and now we want to convert all of our descriptions to wiki format. How do we do this, and not lose our current descriptions? Is there a cookbook or instructions for this? It would seem that this would be a very common request. Thanks, Greg |

Greg,
Are you talking about existing process descriptions in your project areas that are consisted of HTML files bundled in processContent.zip which is then stored as attachment? Thanks, Phong. |
Hi Phong,
No, sorry, I should have been more specific. I was talking about the Description fields in all of our Work Items (Epics, Stories, Tasks, etc) These are all text, but we want our Work Item descriptions to be rich, wiki style fields. Of course, we have a lot of data already in all of our current Work Items, so we do not want to loose that. We just want to be able to convert all of our descriptions to wiki format. Cheers, Greg |

You cannot convert an existing field/attribute from one type to another.
So you cannot convert the Description field to be a Wiki field. Cheers, Geoff On 9/9/2011 5:08 PM, gregsmit wrote: Hi Phong, |
Hello,
Because the post is already older, I wanted again to ask whether it is now possible to change the field type of the field "Description" to "wiki".
