Is it possible to delete WI attachments from the repository

Hi

We have attached a bunch of big files to work-items and realized that they
take a lot of space in DB2. We have removed the attachments, but the size
stays the same. Is it because the attachment is known in the WI history ?
How could we get rid of it definitely ?

Thanks,

Nicolas

The delete action is available only in eclipse client and when the attachments are shown in the Links tab. If the attachment is removed then it does not delete the attachment from the repository. There is a work around to delete attachments that were removed. This also works only in eclipse client.

- Open the work item where the attachment has been removed

- Check whether there is a textual reference to the attachment in the discussion.

   * If yes right click on the attachment reference > Add to Favorites.

   * If there is no textual reference find the ID of the attachment in the work item's history and type "attachment <ID>" as a new comment (but don't save). Right click on the attachment reference > Add to Favorites. Delete the "attachment <ID>" comment

- Drop the attachment from favorites to the links section

- You should now be able to right click > delete on the attachment

- Save the work item

Thanks,

Sharoon

I reopened my original question since it appears it was not available for search when [closed]. Good to see I am not the only one who fell into this trap ...
