How do I set default choices for work items?

Steve Francisco (26139) | asked May 14 '09, 11:41 a.m.
I am customizing my work item editor and would like to have some fields automatically filled in with a default choice. For example, the "Planned for" field should default to the current release instead of being left as "Unassigned". Also for "Filed against", I want my project to be the default since it's the only choice and is just more work for people to have to select it. Is there a way to do this in the project area editor? I looked but could not find a way. (version 1.0.1.1)

There is currently no way of defining default values for attributes, but
this enhancement ist tracked in
