the "passed date" baseline is failing

Can you define "extended time"? Baselines can take some time to complete as it needs to build a full index based on the state of the artifacts as they exist in that baseline and can be very resource intensive on the server. As such, I would strongly advise against automatically creating baselines on a nightly basis as it will result in a lot of index growth. This is in fact one of the reasons special permission is required to create baselines.
