Need example of how to use Asynchronous Task Counter OOTB Report

There is an OOTB Report Resource called 'Asynchronous Task Counter'.  I am trying to explain and illustrate the OOTB Reports and resources.  Is there a service method that I can use to explain what this report does for RTC users?  I gather it monitors the count of asynchronous tasks like those reported by BIRT reports but I need more information for RTC 5.0 users.  Thank you
