Design Manager 4.0.6 / Doors 9.5.2.1 Integration setup issue

jean-claude vauthier (22634856) | asked Mar 31 '14, 4:00 a.m.
On the DM side I have set up the Doors integration without problem and from DM I can link a Doors requirement with the link satisfy.  During the setup I have selected the predefined reverse link URI (Elaborated by) which is optional.

On the Doors side my project is linked to RTC and RQM without any problem, but when I want to register DM (menu OSLC/Remote services) I have the error message "Failed to load service catalog".  I have double check my ConsumerKey and OAuth secret. I'm logged in Doors with the account Administrator with database manager.

Thus from DM I can work with the integration, but on the Doors side I can't see the DM artifacts linked to my Doors project requirements.

As it it a sandbox environment, the Jazz Server with DM + Doors + Doors Web Access are installed on the same server.  The Doors/RTC/RQM integrations work perfectly.

Is the Doors/DM integration setup process different than the Doors/RTC integration process ?

Thanks

For DM, you create the consumer key/secret in the Friends Inbound of jts/admin.  Not dm/admin as you would for RTC/RQM.  Can you double check that is where you created them?

Thanks a lot for your help !!!!!!  It works fine now !!!!!
Thanks a lot for the link too !!!

I have used this link: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/rdmhelp/v4/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.team.vvc.doc%2Ftopics%2Fc_vvc_parent.html
and also this link : http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9r5m2/index.jsp
=> Not very clear.....

I think it's basically a design flaw.  Why does a consumers inbound exist in DM if it isn't used?  I logged this, and I see it is a plan for 5.0. https://jazz.net/jazz04/web/projects/Design%20Management#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=38736

But I am glad you have it working.  Now if you are familiar with DOORS/RQM and DOORS/RTC the next difference that will likely interest you is link discovery.  That I think is quite well documented.  See http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9r5m2/topic/com.ibm.doors.install.doc/topics/c_backlinks_linkdiscovery.html

Hi Jean-Claude,

The procedure is a little different for DOORS/DM.   Instead of adding DOORS to the OAuth Consumers (Inbound) page in DM Administration, you need to add it the Jazz Team Server Administration page.  The JTS Administration provides the trust - and you must point to the rootservices document on the JTS server from DOORS.

The full procedure is documented here:

http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/rssehelp/v1r0m0/topic/com.ibm.rational.sse.install.doc/topics/t_oslc_doorsrdm.html

I hope this helps,

John

Hi John,

You are right John and this is valid for RSA DM and Rhapsody DM.
Additionally, this is true as well for the other CLM (RTC, RQM...). The difference is that the JTS setup registration of the application should take care of it.
Else, here is a technote showing what can happen if they keys do not match (Failed to read matching artifact container catalog resource adding an association from a project area)

Just a detail :

I have tried that:  "and you must point to the rootservices document on the JTS server from DOORS"

From Doors it works only if I specify https://my_server_name/dm/rootservices

oops sorry, it is exactly what is written in your link :

Log into the DOORS® desktop client as an Administrator, and go to File > OSLC > Remote Services. Click Add and enter the following info then click Register:
