Can the auto link feature in RTC/CCM be disabled?

There is a feature in RTC/CCM where you can mention a work item in a description field (e.g. Work Item 15) and it will automatically create a link to the mentioned work item.  In a lot of cases, this is a helpful feature.  But sometimes, it becomes an annoyance (e.g. referring to item 15 in another list automatically makes a link to Work Item 15).

Is there a way to disable this auto link feature, either for individual users or for an entire RTC/CCM project?
