Reverse Proxy with RTC client

I want to implement a reverse proxy and SSO for the Eclipse RTC client

Who could answer the following questions about the architecture so I can
test my setup and open enhancements if needed

How is the userid/password passed from the eclipse client to the RTC
server?
What authentication method is used? Basic authentication? HTTP headers?
Post to a login form?

If it is a login form, what is the login URL and where is the HTML source
code?

How is the user session tracked by the eclipse client?

Does the eclipse client support session cookies?

What HTTP headers or cookies are exchanged between the RTC eclipse client
and the RTC server (both directions), both during the authentication
process and during the usual information exchange.
