Is there a way to set a default work item type?

Jessica Berliner (311) | asked Sep 10 '07, 7:35 p.m.
Is there a way to change the default for what type of work item is created with new work item? I am using M2 and the work item type "defect" is selected by default and I would like it to be "task". Looking in the process specification for the project, I did not see a place where this is defined nor did I find anything in Work Item preferences.

Thanks,

Jessica

No, it's currently not possible, but would be a nice enhancement. I've filed "31219: Introduce default work item type" to track this.

Actually, I found that the default type remains to be Defect, even after you delete Defect as a workitem type from the process configuration.
