How to prioritize build engines?

Marko Tomljenovic (31647109) | asked Feb 10 '09, 9:15 a.m.
Hello all,
I have a couple of build engines. Some are having standard hardware and one is a really high performance machine.

How can I tell the Jazz server to delegate all requests to the high performance build engine (if it is free)?

Greetings Marko

There is currently no ability to give any kind of higher priority in one
build engine over another. If an engine polls for work and finds something
it can do...it will do it. About the best you could do is make the faster
machine poll for requests more often than the slower machine. By default
all JBE instances poll every 30 seconds. You can configure this option as a
parameter on the command line when you launch the JBE. You could change the
polling intervals so that it's more likely that the faster machine will pick
up the request but there is still no guarantee this will occur.
