JS editor throwing errors

Ujjvala Balan (621) | asked Feb 01 '09, 12:23 a.m.
Hi,

While in RTC 1.0, the JS editors were working good. But after migrating to 1.0.1, following is the error thrown when bring up .js files in default or system editor.

'dojo' is undefined. 800A1391. Microsoft JScript runtime error.

I don't have any issues building source files or viewing them in browser though.

Any help will be appreciated.

thanks,
Ujjvala

Hi Ujjvala,

I don't think there were ever any JS editors available in RTC. Perhaps you had installed one before but did not install it in the newer version? There are some open source editors available out there on the Web.

Alternatively, you can use the plain old text editor via right click > Open With > Text Editor, but you won't get any formatting or validation.

I believe by default on Windows you get either IE or a script interpreter which doesn't work with just a single file because it has dependencies on dojo, etc., hence the error.

Thanks,
Curt
