Is it possible to change the project template for existing project areas?
We have created a project area using a project template customized by us for RRC. Now if in future,We create a new Project template with improved functionality is it possible to switch the project template to the new one. Also is there a possibility of establishing Master-Child project area concept for RRC as is the case in RTC.We can share the process configuration of an existing project area. Is it possible to share the project template.?

For an existing project area, you can go to the "Manage Project Properties" page, and in the right upper corner you have the "Import" option, which states:
Import project properties, such as artifact types, attributes, data types, and link types, from another project. If both projects have properties with the same name, the properties will be merged in the current project. No properties will be deleted from the current project. Note that this is from another project area, not from a project template. Comments

Thanks but then each time we want a migration to new template the existing project areas have to manually import the properties from the project area using the desired project template. What we want is that if the master changes( which implies we have a new project template), the project areas using its properties should automatically be updated as is the case in RTC. Is it possible that we can link an existing project area to derive its properties from another project area(master).? and if we shift the link to another project area(new master) the project area gets automatically updated?

FYI: For something like Master project template to be support then this RM Backlog plan item would first need to be implemented.
