How do I set a RQM Requirements Collections link to a DOORs baseline?
In the DOORs web client you can see the Baselines listed above the views for a module. But, when in RQM and setting a requirement collection link you do not see the Baselines (only the views.) Is it possible to link to a baseline? If not, and I believe you can only link to a view, then how do you ensure that you are using the baseline version of the requirements? Or is it only possible to use the latest?? |

Hi Barb,
I have asked our RQM/DOORs integration expert to reply to this post when she returns from vacation. Comments

thank you! I'm just trying to see what is the best approach...seems like a new module for each release could bog the system down. Yet, this client is so regulated they want to know what version of the requirements they are testing.

Hi all,
Any updates on this topic? Current setup: RQM 5.0.2 & DOORS 9.5.2. We would like to link RQM test cases to baselined requirements in DOORS. Our current workflow specifies that Rqmts Mgmt team is ahead of V&V team just by one baseline. To the best of our knowledge, this is possible if doing everything in DOORS. And with RQM and DOORS? Thanks and kind regards, Oskar Comments

Well, just found this. Looks like there's an issue with the OSLC RM spec.

This does not seem possible. When you try to link an RQM TC to a DOORS req, It appears the requirements that RQM gets from the DOORS module are from the current version. There is no option to display requirements from a baseline.
The only alternative I see is to copy the baseline into a new module (File > Baseline > Copy...) and then link the RQM test cases to this new module. But of course you would have to make sure users don't edit this module since it's intention is to be a baseline copy and a baseline is considered a read-only snapshot of the module from a certain moment in time. |
I've confirmed with the RQM/DOORs integration expert that this is not supported since DOORS baseline data is not exposed via OSLC (either API or UI) and DOORS baseline data is immutable and cannot be updated.

Thanks for the update. Just for information purposes, we've seen this request coming from two different customers recently. They are traditional DOORS users and they're evaluating RQM for Test Management.

I'm thinking the only way is to have a new module for each baseline of the requirements.
