Platform Support - RedHat Ent Linux versions?

These are questions from our sysadmins. On the RTC IBM pages, RHEL Desktop 5.0 update 1 is listed as a requirement for Linux (both client and server).

1. This version of RHEL desktop is old -- why not a newer version?
2. What about RHEL server?
3. Is there anything in RTC that "ties" it specifically to this version of RHEL Desktop?

Thanks in advance,
Mike Johnson

I can't comment on why the support team picked a particular version of
RedHat, but I can comment on question number 3.

There shouldn't be anything in the product that ties us to RedHat. I
personally used Ubuntu and I know of at least one other person that uses
Gentoo. As long as you have a fairly modern Linux distribution, you
should be able to get the Jazz server working.
