compare editor

I wonder if anyone else has seen this problem. Running RTC 1.0. On a WinXP pc, compare editor opens and shows two versions of the file as expected.
On a Win2000 pc, the compare editor opens but shows a blank space. No versions displayed. No error message. The next/previous/whitespace buttons are shown in the top toolbar.
Is there something to set to stop this working?
I know this is a dumb problem but it is annoying. I have set up conflict in a file so wanted to see how it handled conflicted merges.

This is probably an issue with Eclipse on Win 2000. It could be related
to https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=207377.
