Hi,

I have to encrypt the communication between my Rational Insight report server and the database server hosting the Rational Insight databases.

But when I set the encryption parameter from DB2 side I get an error from Cognos side.

Is there any recommandation to make that possible or it isn't supported please?

Thanks for the additional details.

According to the following work item:
Enhancement 57241 Content Manager needs to support DB2 DATA_ENCRYPT authentication
the connected encryption between Insight and DB2 is currently not supported.

Hello Fabien,

could you provide more information on the reason you need to have the connection between Insight and the database encrypted?

In general I think this can have a negative impact on the performances and if possible I would suggest to work on the network infrastructure to have Insight and the database in a secure segment of the network.

I need to encrypt the db2 database for compliance purposes. Database and report server are group1 servers.
