Why can't we create work item in Iteration Plans on web UI?

On RTC web UI:
We can create work items against specific categories under Work Item tab; but we still need to use the rich client to add them to ietration plans as we can't do that under Planned Items tab of Iteration Plans on Web UI.

Is there some other way to do that on the Web UI or this should be an enhancement request. If this is the designed behaviour, what is the reasonsing behind it?

Editing iteration plans in the Web UI will come with RTC 2.0. Currently
you can only edit plans in the Eclipse UI or by adding new work items
using the Web UI planning them for the right category and iteration and
then refreshing the plan in the Web UI.

Thanks, Dirk,
As for your comments:
planning them for the right category and iteration

I believe you mean to do it using the rich client. I can using web UI create new work item against a category, but can't find the iteration to add to.

The attribute to set to is called Planned For (available both in the Web
and Rich UI). It lists the available iteration. By creating a work item
with the Planned For and Filed Against attribute set it will
automatically appear on the corresponding iteration plan.

Thanks, Dirk,
For whatever reason, we didn't have the Planned For attribute enabled.
But after I added the Planned For presentation under Editor Presentation of work items at project area's Configuration Data, it shows up now
