RTC Visual Studio - some issues

Libor Tinka (111) | asked Dec 02 '08, 12:57 p.m.
We have experienced some problems with RTC Visual Studio:

1) import of source code - failed through VPN and even dropped down VPN connection, displayed error after import, source code in incosistent state

2) cancellation and re-import of source code - only possible through Eclipse (not VS) - however, files has not been versioned in source control

3) creation of a new workspace for second developer - unknown error, only possible through Eclipse

4) check-in (deliver) - the files has not been marked

5) after some changes has been made, these changes has not been cought in "pending changes"

6) "Error creating stream" error when trying to create new branch

Do somebody know about these issues? These are major problems with integration RTC and Visual Studio in our company. Thanks in forward.

Hello,

I don't know too much about the Visual Studio integration, but...Have you checked for Work Items opened for these problems? And maybe if there wasn't WIs opened maybe you could create ones?

kind regards,
Jakub

Regarding 1 and 2 can you please try to 'Load' again on the same directory that you tried earlier. If you see an error, can you please help us with the screen shot of error. I would request you to open a work-item. Upcoming Beta 2 has an option to explicit unload and reload in such cases.

Regarding (3) , I would need help from you inorder to reproduce. Can you please open a work-item and mention the reproducible steps. Please use
Welcome to create the new work item link. Please attach the snap shot of the error.

Regarding (4). This is going to be fixed in the Beta 2. Again if you have a sample project it will help, so we can verify that this case has been taken care off. This happens in case of certain. Please take a look at work item 64609

Regarding (5), there is some delay because we make it a non blocking operation. You can try to manually refresh by clicking on the only icon in the pending changes window. Does the refresh never happens or it happens after certain delay.

Regarding (6) could this be related to work-item 64883 . If not can you please file a new work-item.

All of these would be suitably address in Beta2 and will be fixed in 1.0. You can track the exact status of this in the work-items and also help us in reproducing the defect. The work-items would be triaged within 24-48 hr of filing. Please file Visual Studio Client in the "Filed Against" field of new work item.
