Rational DOORS Next Generation 4.0.3
Getting started with Rational DOORS Next Generation 4.0.3
About the download: The Rational DOORS Next Generation all-in-one installer includes the option to deploy a shared Jazz Team Server and the Requirements Management (RM), Change and Configuration Management (CCM), and Quality Management (QM) applications, and trial licenses for Rational DOORS Next Generation, Rational Team Concert, and Rational Quality Manager that unlock access to capabilities provided by the applications. While you can perform most tasks with a web browser, the all-in-one installer also includes options to install client tools that support advanced tasks and optimized workflows for specific roles or jobs, or tools that provide additional functions such as integrations with other systems.
Windows x86-32/64, 256.92 MB
If you want to install the Rational solution for systems and software engineering (SSE), you can download Rational DOORS Next Generation as part of the Rational solution for SSE installation.
For other download options, including local (offline) installers, see the All Downloads tab.
For known issues with this release, see the release notes.
For supported platforms and requirements, see the system requirements.
To get started quickly with a small deployment by using the default topology and Apache Derby databases, go to the next step and install the server. Apache Derby deployments are limited to 10 users and do not support cross-domain reports.
For advanced deployments, first read the Interactive Installation Guide to plan your deployment. Then, visit the Optional Programs page to obtain programs such as DB2®, WebSphere® Application Server, and Rational® Reporting for Development Intelligence.
For advanced enterprise deployments that require high availability with automatic failover, clustering for high availability is possible. Read more about clustering in the High Availability with Rational solution for CLM 2012 Clustering article and the Setting up a clustered environment information center topic.
Upgrading: If you plan to upgrade an existing deployment, see the Upgrading page.
To perform a web installation of the server, download the web installer for your platform (see the previous section), extract the .zip file, and start the launchpad (launchpad.exe or launchpad.sh, depending on your platform). The server includes Apache Derby to support up to 10 users. To enable more than 10 users, install DB2 or another supported database program.
If you need to install the server in an environment without access to the Internet, visit the All Downloads page, download a repository for the server and trial licenses, and install by using IBM Installation Manager.
Note: During the installation process, you have the option to install different applications. You do not have to install all of them; you can install only a subset of the applications. These options are for advanced installation scenarios, such as distributing the applications across multiple servers or deploying multiple applications of the same type within an application group.
For information about installing and managing client access licenses, see Managing client access licenses.
After the installation, complete the steps in the Jazz Team Server setup wizard, which is available at https://fully_qualified_host_name:9443/jts/setup (where fully_qualified_host_name is the domain for your server).
Additional guidance: For help with the setup wizard, see Running the setup wizard in the information center.
You can perform most tasks with a web browser. The client tools support advanced tasks and optimized workflows for specific roles or jobs, or provide additional functions such as integrations with other systems. An optional rich client supports a local client experience when creating and editing modules. For details, see Installing the rich client.
Note: When you are prompted for the server URL, the format should be https://fully_qualified_host_name:9443/rm, where fully_qualified_host_name is the domain for your server.
To edit graphic requirements artifacts, you must install browser add-ons for the Requirements Management application. For more information, see RM Browser Add-On Installation FAQ and Troubleshooting Guide. You must assign a specific license to the user who edits graphic requirements.
