Non-Agile ALM Process templates

Shelby Phillips (29624621) | asked Nov 03 '08, 4:57 p.m.
Does RTC currently support any non-agile ALM process templates?

If so, how close does this template resemble the CQ ALM schema?

If not, what are the plans to release something similar?

You can start with the Formal Project Management Process based on the traditional scheduler.    You will find work item types such as "Project Change Request", "Risks", "Milestone".....  no user story or epic.   You have constraints type for the task work item and the scheduler does not work  the same way the agile scheduler does.   You will find some articles in jazz.net about the traditionnal scheduler.

From what I know it is not similar to the CQ ALM schema, but it is probably closer than the scrum process template.  You can probably customize the Formal Project Management Process renaming for example "Project change request" by "request",  " RTC business need" is probably more or less a "task" and a "RTC task" more or less an "CQ activity".   With RTC you can probably use Work items template to structure your RTC tasks.

From what I remember CQ ALM schema is quite difficult to use if you don't know the process behind.  Not sure that you will be able to implement the controls within RTC without developing some plugins.
