Retrieving user password by admin
Hello,
I am the admin for my Team. I have the username/id and password for myself and I can log on as the admin with no problem. However, I lost the password for a user. How can I as the admin retrieve the username/id and password for the user from the admin login section? |

The passwords cannot be retrieved through the web UI, but it might be
possible to retrieve the passwords through the application server itself. On tomcat, there is a file called tomcat-users.xml that contains the user data, including the password (the hashed password). Perhaps there is some information on the web about how to reverse the passwords from that. However, if you are using Tomcat, a better approach would be to reset their password, which you can do as an admin on their user editor. Matt Lavin Jazz Server Team stclair wrote: Hello, |
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. A simple question: When I navigate to the team and the user whose password I have lost and clicked "Reset Password", there is no dialog. 1. What is the password now set to? 2. How do I update the use to use this new reset password? Thanks. Hello, |
The new password should have been e-mailed to the user.
