Web UI limited functionality

Shelby Phillips (29624621) | asked Oct 10 '08, 4:50 p.m.
Are there currently plans to enhance the RTC Web UI functionality?

The interface is lacking many key features to make it usable to our general userbase in comparison to the Eclipse client. Specifically, around document and source code management.

There are some improvements for viewing change sets and build artifacts in the Web UI with the 1.0.1 release.

The best way to encourage work on specific features you need is to open enhancement work items, or add comments to existing enhancement work items to register your interest. Thanks.

Shelby, in the proposed Team Concert 1.1 (currently planned for June 2009) one of the themes is "Web Access". Here's what's in the plan:

Web Access Rational Team Concert functionality should be available through a web UI that provides direct access to the server without having to install a desktop client. This enables better integrations with other products that web-only UIs. In the 1.1 release, we want to increase the number of components will web access coverage and provide functional parity with the Eclipse client.

For a full list of plan items related to web access, see the "Items by Theme" page in the Team Concert 1.0 plan:
