DOORS NG: Preferences to configure SQL Database

The install guide does not specify whether the SQL database should be local on the application server, or can be on a remote server. The client's preference is to set up the database in their shared SQL cluster if they can eliminate the need of installing SQL on individual application servers. They believe the DOORS database can be hosted in one of their SQL clusters.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Jignesh,

The database may be on a remote server.  You can follow the instructions for setting up a SQL Server database here:
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.jazz.install.doc%2Ftopics%2Ft_s_server_installation_setup_sql.html
That page also has a link to a server/database tuning guide.
