How can we create a feature request?

Hello,

Are we allowed to create a work item for a feature request? When I tried to create one, I got the following error:

Permission Denied. You don't have permission to perform the following actions:

Confirm (Eclipse Way Workflow) (action/com.ibm.team.workitem.eclipseWayWorkflow.action.confirm).

Are you talking about in our RTC environments running on Jazz.net, or in your own server?

You should have permission to create Enhancement work items, which is usually the best way to represent a feature request.  I just checked the RTC project area, and the Everyone role has permission to perform the "Confirm (Eclipse Way Workflow)" action (which is one of the actions that happens when you create a new defect or enhancement).  So I can't say why you are getting permission denied.

It is possible that you are trying to create a work item in a team area that does not grant that permission to the Everyone role.  In what project area are you trying to create the work item, and how are you setting the "Filed against" and "Planned for" fields?  That can help us figure out exactly which permissions are controlling the operation.

I was having this problem trying to enter an enhancement request.

The issue seems to be related to the Filed Against field.  I tried to File Against -Integrations --Import, but received the permission error.  I changed Filed Against to Work Items and was successful.  My guess is the Team associated with --Import Category (and potentially other categories) does not have permissions set correctly for the Everyone role.

FYI, here is the ER I submitted: https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=264591
