Sagar shah (821617) | asked May 14 '12, 5:09 p.m.
As Anyone tested the preconditions with "Required work item approval" during delivering the code in RTC 2.x

I have tried everything possible way and i get this error in Team advisor . i don't understand what the error is telling me

==========================================
The requirements for this precondition are not correctly configured. Valid 'roles' values are all roles specified in the process

Reason
Require a work item with resolved approvals when a change set is delivered.

JAZZ DEVELOPER
This feature was being used by RTC development team from RTC 1.0.
Going by the error looks like the work item associated with the change set does not have the approvals.
The roles selected is all so approval be any team member should do.
Can you provide more details on the steps you have done.

What we do as part of our development is:
1. Check in the changes to a change set.
2. To associate a work item to the change set. Usually I drag and drop the work item from my work item view onto the change set(as it will be owned by me) or from the context menu of the change set.
3. Complete the change set.
4. Open the work item and add the approvals of required type.
5. select the Approver based on the required role.
If its just one approval then the change set context menu itself can be used to submit for the review.
6. Once approved the delivery goes through smoothly.

Looks like in my case the changes made are not getting reflected until i restart the tomcat service. Once i restarted the tomcat service it started giving expected team advisory message and not giving anymore Configuration error
