Can customer use Build Forge features if they buy RAF?
Dear all,
I have some questions regarding RAF.
1)
When RAF is installed, Build Forge is installed together.
If customer buy RAF, can they use Build Forge all features?
Is there any limitation?
2)
When RAF eclipse client saves some information, I can see that information on Build Forge web console as well.
Does that mean if I connect to RAF server and generate some data on RAF eclipse client, RAF server communicates with Build Forge server to save some information in BF DB as well?
3)
Is RAF using Build Forge to execute each step of automation plan?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the questions and here are my quick answers, if you would like to discuss this in more detail please feel free to contact me privately.
1.) From a technical perspective, any functions that are in Build Forge and can be used as long as it is in support of automation for middleware management including install/patching, configuration management, application deployment, and operational activities for the middleware (start/stop/restart/etc.). This limitation is described in the license.
2.) The Rational Automation Framework Eclipse UI does connect and store information in both the RAF data repository for the Middleware configuration data and the Build Forge repository for the Automation Plan information.
3.) Rational Build Forge is the embedded automation engine in the Rational Automation Framework and is used to do the orchestration/execution of the automation plan steps.
