Script Based Default Value - No HTTP Access?

I have tried to acess an http request as the one we are able to do with a Script Based Value Set but have come to know that it will not work.

Then I have proceeded and tried to instantiate a XMLHttpRequest javascript object, only to know that it won't work either.

Is there a way to go 'outside' CCM while using a Script Based Default Value?
