Hi

This is interesting - I did not realise XMPP was supported by Microsoft. This implies all you need to do is set the RTC IDE client to use XMPP and then you will be able to use Office Communicator.

IM settings are in the Eclipse Windows->Preference, or better still - check the Help for XMPP.

If you (or anyone else) has access to Office Communicator and can try this out - I am sure many people would be keen to hear if it works.

Are you able to use Microsoft Office communicator as a instant messenger for RTC.

Please let us know if this does work, I know there is a lot of people subscribed to a work item for Office Communicator integration!

Follow these steps:


  • Uninstall the add-on through Add/Remove Programs
  • Reinstall using the correct installer
  • RQMExcelImporterSetup.exe is 32-bit
  • RQMExcelImporterX64setup.exe is 64-bit
  • Right-click and choose "Run as administrator"
