RTC and Microsoft IM
RTC support for XMPP
"Rational Team Concert can connect to several servers that support the XMPP protocol. Jazz has built-in support for chat using the XMPP protocol. It supports peer chats, ad-hoc multi-chats with several participants as well as persistent team chat in chat rooms." according to https://jts.r8w4p0m.ibm.com:20024/clmhelp/topic/com.ibm.team.collaboration.doc/topics/t_instantmessaging.html "The Office Communications Server 2007 R2 XMPP Gateway enables IM and presence communication between Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and select XMPP-based IM and presence providers." according to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=141529 . Are there any references about using RTC instant messaging over the Microsoft XMPP Gateway ? |

RTC support for XMPP Hi This is interesting - I did not realise XMPP was supported by Microsoft. This implies all you need to do is set the RTC IDE client to use XMPP and then you will be able to use Office Communicator. IM settings are in the Eclipse Windows->Preference, or better still - check the Help for XMPP. If you (or anyone else) has access to Office Communicator and can try this out - I am sure many people would be keen to hear if it works. anthony |
