Using a Link to an Artifact in an Asset
Is it possible to have a url that points directly to an asset artifact so that when the link is clicked it invokes RAM and then loads the artifact once the user logs in? This assumes the user is not logged into RAM and likely doesn't have a browser open.
This would be used as a link in a Word doc or some other file. For instance when a user clicks this url https://myramserver.ibm.com:9443/ram/artifact/878DF0B5-BFA0-620F-99BA-D85841D3E8BC/8.0/MyArtifact.docx we want it to open a browser, go to the RAM login screen and then once the user is authenticated open the correct asset and load the artifact. I thought I had this working at one point, but it doesn't seem to be doing so now. Now it just takes you to the login screen and after authenticating it just takes you to the main RAM screen. I think this has always been a problem with links in MS Office documents to secured pages in RAM. The links should work fine outside of MS Office documents. The problem you are seeing will be fixed in RAM 7.5.1.1. See https://jazz.net/jazz02/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/54953

Dashboards and work items are no longer publicly available, so some links may be invalid. We now provide similar information through other means. Learn more here.
