IP Address Change on server hosting Jazz & RTC

Simon Benge (121) | asked Nov 30 '11, 7:34 a.m.
Hi,

we recently had to change the IP Address on the server which is hosting our Jazz & RTC environment. we are running RTC 3.0 and using RBD 8.0 for software deveopment.

We are now getting numerous errors when trying to connect to RTC from the eclipse client and the Jazz Team server no longer shows RTC as an appplication which can be managed in Jazz Admin.

Has anyone come accross this type of problem before?

Thanks

You can not change the host name of the Jazz products or any part of the context root and URI of the jazz servers. As long as you don't put the IP address into it, you can move it to another server when you can assign the old host name to the new machine.

See http://jazzpractices.wordpress.com/2011/07/21/you-cant-change-the-public-uri-really-you-cant/ and http://jazzpractices.wordpress.com/2011/09/23/how-to-move-and-change-your-clm-installation/ and many many posts here.

If you created the context root https://myserver.example.com:9444/jazz/ it needs to stay that way. You have to rename the new host to myserver.example.com before bringing up RTC after the move. I hope you don't have the IP address in this context root, because you would have to make sure the new host has the old hosts IP.
