Source code import from CC to RTC 3.0.1
Hello,
I try currently to import with history the source code from CC into RTC (3.0.1) for one of our customer. This is a CQ enabled UCM project therefore I have configured the parameters CLEARQUEST_DBSET_NAME, CLEARQUEST_LOGIN_NAME and CLEARQUEST_USERDB_NAME accordingly. I started with a simple test of importing one single file which has few Activities and Baselines in CC. They were successfully imported and that was for me the message the synchronizer is properly setup. I proceed with another test file which has much more activities and baselines. The imported ended without any single error but the history got lost. No one single baseline was imported. One single Workitem included in build was created. Nevertheless in the build.log file all baselines and the change sets are listed. Here some details about this file as they might be relevant: -The file is a XML file (iap_xml) used by InstallAnywhere to describe the setup contents -Looking with the ClearCase Version Tree Browser at the file I saw around 18 versions and Activities created. In each version one can see hundred of Baselines and an Activity/Defect associated. -When comparing the versions one sees there are indeed differences from one to the other. Below an excerpt for the build.log file -------------------------- Starting operation: import Scanning for folders whose member count exceeds 1000 Processed activity "Restored component: csroot" in 7965 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Restored ancestor folder of root: cs_packaging" in 6391 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Restored ancestor folder of root: InstallAnywhere" in 163 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Restored ancestor folder of root: aix" in 174 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Restored ancestor folder of root: Merge_Modules" in 203 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Restored ancestor folder of root: cssap_Server" in 173 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Restored root: cssap_Server.iap_xml" in 226 millisecond(s) Retrieving meta-data for: cssap/csroot/cs_packaging/InstallAnywhere/aix/Merge_Modules/cssap_Server/cssap_Server.iap_xml Transferring 1 changes Processed activity "INFO: Duplicate content (detected via matching hash values), no new state created." in 1062 millisecond(s) Processed activity "Updated file: __8bvywb0EeGJFJKu5tlFhQ/csroot/cs_packaging/InstallAnywhere/aix/Merge_Modules/cssap_Server/cssap_Server.iap_xml" in 0 millisecond(s) Checking in brought over changes Processed activity "Completed change set containing 6 changes." in 2060 millisecond(s) Importing baseline(s): baseline:ver_cssap_8_4_0_511@\cssap-ucm Computing changes in component: csroot Transferring 105 changes Checking in brought over changes Importing baseline(s): baseline:ver_cssap_8_4_0_512@\cssap-ucm Computing changes in component: csroot .......................... Importing baseline(s): baseline:ver_cssap_2_2_0_668@\cssap-ucm Computing changes in component: csroot Checking in brought over changes Jazz: Number of files created = 1 Number of files updated = 1 Number of folders created = 5 Number of folders updated = 0 Number of symbolic links created = 0 ClearCase: Number of files created = 0 Number of files updated = 0 Number of folders created = 0 Number of folders updated = 0 Number of symbolic links created = 0 ------------------------- I don't quite understand the sentence in bold above! Moreover, when cheking the log file: SynchronizedFilesAftertSync.txt I noticed also that file's name in the CC is missing: Jazz: csroot\cs_packaging\InstallAnywhere\aix\Merge_Modules\cssap_Server\cssap_Server.iap_xml ClearCase: I can't figure out where the problem is. Does anybody have an idea? Thank you in advance, Zica |

When you browse the baseline, you need to click Show All in Repository. By default, it shows only the initial baseline.

If you add a new sync root to an existing import-with-history sync
stream, it just means "for subsequent baselines, include this additional sync root". It cannot go back in history and somehow add that new sync root to the baselines you already imported, because baselines are immutable. So if you want to have the already imported baselines contain more sync roots, you will need to create a new import-with-history sync stream, and than add all the desired sync roots before you start the first sync on that sync stream. That will create a new series of baselines, which contain the selected sync roots. Cheers, Geoff On 11/9/2011 5:08 AM, zvalsan wrote: Hello, |
thanks for the input but, this is not a view issue.
Maybe yo overseen my previous statement that during the import of this particular file only ONE WorkItem which tracks the baselines imported was created ("Included in build"). For a successfully done import with history I got as much WI as baselines |

In order to investigate your situation in detail, it would be best to
either open a work item on jazz.net (file it against the ClearCase Connector category), or work with Rational Support. Cheers, Geoff On 11/10/2011 8:08 AM, zvalsan wrote: thanks for the input but, this is not a view issue. |
Thank you Geoff, I start working with the Rational support team on this issue.
